Every Candle I’ve Ever Recommended!

Each newsletter I share a few favorites at the end, the most loved being “What I’m Burning.” Here’s a roundup of all of them!

  • California Christmas from The New Savant makes me nostalgic for my own home, if that’s possible. The ozone and citrus scents mingle to make something delicious.

  • I'm loving Olive Tree and Thyme by Paddywax (since renamed, but I promise it's the same). It's herbaceous and yummy while I spend some time in the kitchen!

  • Myrtle Mint from P.F. Candle Co. This scent is meant to promote focus, and boy do I need it right now. Beyond that, it's so relaxing and making my workday far more chill.

  • Sapphics in the City from The New Savant is bringing me all of the fun summertime feels as we go into one of my favorite seasons.

  • The limited edition scent, Your Apartment, which was created by P.F. Candle Co in collaboration with the band Wallows. Not only do I find it so interesting that they’ve linked a smell to a song, but it’s a great one at that!

  • I mentioned I was trying out new scents from The New Savant, and I’ve found a few new favorites, but right now Heatwave is taking me to the summer weather I wish we were having in LA!

  • I gave myself the gift of trying a new candle brand (crazy, I know) and ordered the starter pack from The New Savant. So far, I’m really enjoying it and think it’s so great to allow new customers to try out a variety of scents.

  • The Souks of Marrakech Candle from Rifle Paper Co. has been transporting me lately as I wish for less rain and warmer days. Even though California is better than most, this candle uplifts me on the days when it isn’t.

  • Vetiver and Cedarwood from Target is adding to my ambiance right now as LA continues to experience some intensely rainy days!

  • Windows Down from Henry Rose, who sadly discontinued their candles, but you can get the same fragrance as a perfume! It’s a lovely spring smell for days when you wish the rain would go away.

  • I’m trying to channel my energy into focusing on one project at a time, and the P.F. Candle Co. Bergamot Shiso candle is supposed to help me do that! All I know is that it smells clean and lovely!

  • Last Light from Henry Rose is giving me the warm and woody vibes I’ve been looking for in these cooler (sometimes) days. Plus their full-size candles are currently half off!

  • P.F. Candle Co. x L.A. Times Plants Jeffrey Pine: it’s lovely to support an institution, and this scent makes it easy for me to pretend I’m somewhere with lots of trees instead of in the middle of a city.

  • I’ll admit it, I’m one of those people who puts up their holiday decorations before Thanksgiving. I embraced this tradition in 2020 as a way to welcome the joy of the holidays earlier in a time that felt bleak, and I’ve been doing it ever since. And while I do, I live my best basic life and burn this lovely holiday candle from Anthropologie. I know, I hate myself in this moment, too, but I’m no longer delaying joy.

  • Oranger by Diptyque. A classic warm fall scent that is putting me in the mood for all things cozy.

  • Woods from Everspring. That’s right, the Target brand. I love fancy candles as much as the next girl, but sometimes something nice and organic from Target is lovely too. Can you tell I wish it was fall?

  • Persimmon Cider from (are you shocked?) P.F. Candle Co. It may not feel like fall yet, but it doesn’t mean I can’t pretend!

  • Moonrise from P.F. Candle Co. It’s warm and cozy when you wish it was just a touch cooler outside (but really, just a touch). Plus, it’s on sale right now!

  • Musk from Jenni Kayne at my parent’s place, where I’ve been working while family is in town visiting. It’s spicy, smoky, and just plain delicious!

  • Wild Herb Tonic by P.F. Candle Co. This is so good that I am hoarding it so I don’t burn down the candle too quickly. But when I do burn it, it reminds me of the rosemary bush in the backyard of my childhood home. Core Memory Unlocked.

  • I bring you another recommendation from Flamingo Estate! When the company stops making good products, I will stop recommending them, but until then, here we are. I recently got a massage (see below) and the Adriatic Muscatel Sage candle took me right back there this week. After six hours on the plane getting home, this was a huge relief.

  • Roma Heirloom Tomato by Flamingo Estate. If you’re cringing at the thought of a tomato candle right now, I used to be in your shoes! But, it’s so lightly scented that it brings that sweet greenness through your home and reminds you of sunnier days.

  • Copal by P.F. Candle Co. If you haven't noticed by now, I'm a big P.F. fan (maybe a future newsletter will explain why!) and I'm addicted to this scent which they just brought out of their vault. It's all things cardamom and spice but not in a food way. Grab it before they lock it away again!

  • Baies from Diptyque. It was a lovely gift and immediately makes me feel like it's spring in my apartment. Plus, Diptyque's candles are such a luxury that I immediately feel like I'm treating myself when I light it.

  • Queens & Monsters by Henry Rose. It's sweet and warming, plus it fills my whole apartment despite being only a single wick candle.

  • If you know me, you know I love candles. This week my favorite scent has been P.F. Candle Co's Pinon- it's warm and cozy to get me through the rainy days L.A. has been experiencing lately.
